Nestled along the banks of the serene Mekong River in Vientiane, Hom Sa Cafe is more than just a café; it’s a hidden gem that offers a unique blend of rustic charm and modern aesthetics. With its breathtaking views of the river and adjacent temple, this café is a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The ambiance is cozy yet stylish, featuring tastefully decorated interiors that invite you to sit back, relax, and soak in the peaceful surroundings.

Patrons rave about the café's distinctive design, making it one of the coolest spots to enjoy a cup of coffee, as highlighted by Hannah Greene, who described it as “possibly the coolest cafe in the world!” The blend of timber accents and open-air seating, complemented by a refreshing breeze from the river, creates an inviting atmosphere that is both comfortable and inspiring.

The menu is thoughtfully crafted with a variety of reasonably priced drinks that cater to every taste. Whether you’re in the mood for a robust coffee to kickstart your day or a refreshing beverage to sip on during a leisurely afternoon, you won't be disappointed. The café also offers light bites that make the experience even more enjoyable, although diners like Ishwinder Sialy have noted that while the food may not be exceptional, the overall experience is wholly satisfactory and fulfilling.

One of the standout features of Hom Sa Cafe is its location. As detailed by Stephane NEMECZEK, it is a perfect spot for a quiet moment alone or a friendly gathering. The ground floor boasts stunning views, while upstairs offers a charming tree that adds to the unique aesthetic. Even with the current road construction, the ambiance remains unspoiled, making it worth the effort to seek out this little paradise. Nate South's review emphasizes easy parking at the nearby temple, ensuring your visit is hassle-free.

The friendly, attentive staff add to this captivating venue's allure, ensuring that every visitor feels welcome. You might find them a bit shy at times, but their professionalism shines through with warm smiles and helpful service. The overall atmosphere is one of relaxation and leisure, making it a go-to hangout for locals and travelers alike.

In a world where cafes can often feel generic, Hom Sa Cafe is a refreshing breath of fresh air. Whether you want to unwind with a good book, meet up with friends, or simply enjoy the stunning views, this café promises an experience that feels both personal and enchanting. It’s a place you will want to return to time and again, each visit offering something new to discover.

Great little cafe - it's rustic style, but comfortable relaxed and a great place which feels off the beaten track of Vientiane, but not far out of the centre. There was also a really nice cool breeze off the river. They had really reasonably priced drinks, the server had good English. I didn't try the food. There's nice views from the ground floor and upstairs and a super cool tree that provides a lot of shade. Seemed to have a steady stream of local young people coming in. It may be easy to miss it as it doesn't have a big sign and it looks like a house from the entrance. Don't be drawn to the posher looking place up the road. There is actually a small sign for Hom Sa on the correct place - and it's directly on the riverside. Just go - it's really relaxed - breezy and cool!

Quaint little coffee shop and cafe. Right on the Mekong and surrounded by trees. There is an air conditioned room also available. Road construction at the moment makes sitting outside a bit noisy. Worth the effort to find. Easy parking at the temple bear by.

A hidden gem worth discovering ! Great value for money with a varied and affordable menu, both for food and drinks. The place is charming, cozy, and tastefully decorated — perfect for a quiet moment alone or with friends. The staff is friendly, helpful, sometimes a bit shy, but always professional and smiling. A real great find that I highly recommend. I’ll definitely be coming back !

Nice semi-hidden gem -- great place to chill next to the Mekong River. Inside and outside seating with the outside covered by shady trees. Coffee and food is okay and the service is friendly. The best thing is the location -- it's a perfect spot along the river and a nice place to bring out-of-town visitors.
